Been in the hobby about 15 years. Took a break when I left California about 4 years ago. I have always been a little lucky in my builds and never really battled any big issues. Mostly due to excellent forums and information. I am an information addict. And once you learn to read through the BS there is some really good info put there. My previous systems have always been large 250 plus systems. With various attached frag systems. This is the first time with trying smaller tanks. Started about 8 months ago with a very nice 65 gallon lagoon style setup. But once I started buying fish I got frustrated really fast. There are certain fish I have to have and that wasn't cutting it. So after only being up for about 90 days I ran into a huge battle with dinos. In the past I really never seen these low nutrient issues. Very odd how prevalent it is these days. Almost like no3 and po4 got everyone so scared they end up with dinos. Well that gave me the reason to tear it down and restart. The biggest issue is I am a tight wad. But in Cali you can find very nice systems being torn down all the time and save half the $$. No dice here in the big sky country. So I bought a red sea 525xl used from the only lfs in 300 miles. Been up only about 2.5 months and I finally post a few pics without being to embarrassed. Plus my wife's nuvo 25 lagoon and my qt.
