@twilliard , you didn't answer my questions in post [HASHTAG]#109[/HASHTAG]!!:D Brandon answered me on the BTA question, but how is h2o2 actually doing its job in the system, as opposed to direct application. Since it only stays active for 24 hours, based on your research. Does it target bad stuff and chew away a little each day? Or does it continue to kill it off after the 24 hours pass? This may be a completely stupid question, I'm just trying to grasp how it's working, especially since I've read so many conflicting dosing percentages lately. Thank you, sir!!
Sorry I missed a question I will go read it and get back to you!

Hey guys, I've been dipping frags in h2o2 for years, to hopefully kill the nasty algae that can sneak in... (bryopis  ) If the peroxide is only staying active in the system for 24 hours and you have to re-dose every 24 hours, how is it targeting cyano or nuisance algae? I was recently dosing 1:10 to target said bryopsis; however, I decided to pull the large rocks for a direct application and scrub with a toothbrush. Is the continual dosing administered in hopes that it eventually finds and attacks its target? Or is the continual dosing attacking the target slowly every day and eventually eradicates it? I hope that makes sense! I'm just trying to know how it is working within the reef. :D

Also, I have a question about BTA's. I notice they freak out pretty bad if h2o2 comes in contact with them. Are there any long-term detrimental effects to anemones, while dosing? Thanks for your research @twilliard !
I will try to answer this to the best of my ability
Yes h2o2 has less then a 24 hour life span.
Many things changes the span, lights, organics, and the elements of saltwater.
Now this comes to dosing h2o2 (not finalized )
Lights off, dose every 12 hours (amount not yet determined )
H2O2 doesn't pick and choose it's about what will oxidize when in contact.
So far only the most delicate is interfered while a vast majority is unharmed
Large organisms seem to not be affected but single cell bacteria seems susceptible
I test every day with new samples exposed to different amounts of h2o2.
So without dosing large volumes to eradicate in one dose, a set volume has to be spread out over time to keep from harming other live tissues
This is where I find peroxide interesting, it releases it's oxygen bond leaving water behind (rapidly )

Using hydrogen peroxide to rid Cyno and nuisance algae is nothing new. I was doing such a long with others here in the UK 30 years ago. However I prefer to dose it using an Oxydator these days.

Interesting..
Do you have any links to the study behind it?

If you used peroxide to tvhe dosage it affects macro algae you would be using far to much and or strength. I have used various dosages and strengths without ever encounting an issue with the likes of Caulerpa.

Thank you!
I should have followed my dreams years ago but didn't want to go from high school to college
I started chemistry and biology when I was 16. Won many state awards but never pursued it.

Thank you!
Those cells once broken apart starts the cyano "chain"
This is where I advise people to try their best to not stir up the mat.
