Badge Question

Hi, sorry if this was covered in the huge site transition thread...

But I was wondering what the reasoning was with hiding everyone's badges behind a view badge button?

Part of what I liked about this site was the badge system, and that at a glance you could see what someone's history/achievements were with the site. Almost like the ribbon bars on a military uniform.

Is there a setting I can change that will display them for everyone again? Thanks.

I actually prefer having it on mobile. Keeps things tighter on the screen and doesn't waste valuable screen space.

OP: On my iphone if you want to see badges by default you just have to turn it 90 degrees and browse in “landscape mode”

The reason was that on mobile, users with alot of badges would take up almost the whole page. So they shrunk them down to the view badge button. If you rotate your phone sideways they pop up :)

I've never been to the site on a desktop and have always been a mobile user (android). I use my phone in portrait orientation and haven't thought of the badges as taking up screen space, I'm always scrolling down anyway. For example in this thread, Crabs and Rev have tons of badges and it's barely noticable to me.

Yeah I'm not a fan of landscape mode, it really minimizes how much text you can see on the screen at any given time.
