A single bangaii will be just fine without others of their kind, and will fit in well with the other fish you mentioned.

I prefer how they look compared to pj's. I have never had an issue getting them to eat.

I dont have any cardinal. but i think they only eat frozen food, like mysis.. not sure!
They will go over to pellets and flakes once they recognize you as their food provider.

Some will eat a lot of different foods, but mine have been fussy and will only eat mysis and black worms.

My bangaii used to eat pellets, for about a month. Then stopped. Just wasnt feeling it I suppose. He currently feeds on literally anything else that put in the water column (squid, mysis, krill bits, brine). Tried several different pellets too. Go figure.

Banggais do fine alone and with the fish you mentioned. Gotta start it on frozen food such as mysis or LRS and then from there you can try pellet and flake.

Put 4 in my 30 g nano
Had a lot of trouble feeding them
Spot fed with syringe but they kept hiding in the rocks
Only one left but he seems to be getting it and eating combination of Mysis and dry food
Had visions of a school hanging out but ah well,,,,

Yeah, in captivity they kill each other off.

I have been able to get any bangaiis eating pellets and flakes in about 2 weeks time. Start with frozen then move on to other prepared foods.
