Hey all i had 4 now I'm down to 1. 2 completely mia for last 2 weeks now 1 again today. Wife told me she seen our 2 yellow bellied damsels chasing them is this what's happened to our cardinals. I didn't realize they would do that and suggestions or info on this thanks

How big is the tank? How long have you had the cardinals?
Cardinals are known to pick each other off until just a pair of solo, so they may not be innocent.
It’s definitely not out of the question for damsels to be aggressive. Yellowtails are on the nicer end for damsels, but still carry a risk.

135 gallon they were all introduced same time 1 month ago

But cardinals just stayed floating towards middle end of tank with clowns and damsels stay in lr most time

New cardinals are susceptible to iridovirus infections, especially if wild caught (or mixed with wild caught). Each one I’ve tried hadn’t made it past a month before dying of suspected iridovirus. It’s possible that’s what you’re seeing.
That said, if you’re seeing excessive chasing, aggression is still the most likely culprit even in that large a tank.
