Recently - a week ago (6 days),

I purchased 4 Banggai Cardinalfish from LFS. They have refused to eat. Only one here or there taking a bite of shrimp. I have tried Garlic Guard to get them to eat. Now one of the four is on its death bed laying on the bottom of the tank. Anyone know how to get these fish to eat? I have called LFS and asked them what they feed them; and its the same thing.

I'm sorry to hear about your fish. Have you tried any live or frozen foods?

I have tried feeding both Brine and Mysis frozen shrimp. It just floats down beside them and they ignore it. While the rest of my reef fish; eat it up. They are not being picked on; they just hover in the low-flow area of the tank. Not aggressively, seeking food.

6 clowns - 2 blue / green chromes, Diamond and yellow gobies, lawnmower blennies, Royal Gramme, chalk bass, Neon Dottieback, and 6 line Wasse - are all doing well. Only the 4 Cardinals are not eating.

Try using selcon supplement with shrimp and garlic and see if they will eat. It’s great for finicky fish. I also have a Banggai cardinal and he did not eat anything until I tried adding garlic and selcon with mysis shrimp.
