I just picked one of these guys up for my new tank, do any of you have any experience with this fish ?

He would be the same as the rest of the Acanthurus Family. Needs large and long tank, seaweed and such for food, aggresive towards fish of its own kind, unless in a HUGE tank. But, pretty Tang choice also.

Grows pretty fast. I had one at about 6" and he was a foot within 4 years. Also was not overly aggressive for a surgeon fish IMO.

They grow very, very fast. They’re honestly not suitable for most aquariums, I’d say an 8 foot tank should be a minimum size due to how fast they reach their maximum size, which is more than a foot and a half long.
