Hey all,

Brand New to the forum here. Just got an acan frag. It was closed up for a week then it puffed out to look like this. Is it healthy with it's feelers out for feeding or is it dying with skeleton showing?

My parameters:
Calcium 400
Nitrite: 0
Ammonia: 0
KH: 8dKh
Phosphate: 0.5

Much much better. Thank you!!

I don't see anything odd.

Just an unhealthy /unhappy coral.

It seems sucked in in the white pcs. It's normal for them to open up and look like a tentacled nightmare after lights out.

Yeesh. Unhealthy and unhappy you say? I'll do a water change and move him somewhere else where he may be happier. Thanks for the feedback!

Low flow and low light to keep rainbow colors in acans...
The water's not the issue.
Par should be under 100
Also, I'm guessing your tank is new gauging by the algae growth...

It's about 7 months old. FOWLR until about a week ago when I picked up this frag. I figured I'd see how well the acan can do before I go all out

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
