Just got a Twisted Skimmer 8 30 from Stingray Bay in Mi, so excited, but I must be doing something wrong because it’s it working right.
I have a Mag18 that I had left over from a previous tank so wanted to use that, maybe that’s my problem.
Got it all hooked up the way I think it should work, but when I plug it in, there is almost no air in the water, and it’s leaking like crazy out of the two spot I have pointed too.
Any help?

Following. I'm thinking about the bash sea skimmer. I didn't know you could use any pump on those like the lifereef skimmers.

I had one years ago and loved it! Plus with a big Rubbermaid sump filled with live rock, I prefer the skimmer sitting outside of the tank for some reason and seems like no one makes good external skimmers, or not many places anyway.

Mine was used, but didn’t work due to a dirty Beckett injector. I removed the Beckett, split it open, and cleaned it out. Also, the tabs that hold the little ball in place broke. A few dabs of super glue fixed that for me in February…or maybe March.

Mine leaks in those spots too, used zip ties and it’s good now
So you just zip tied the blue tube to hold a better seal?

also - do you think it’s possible that the mag 18 is not powerful enough and that’s why I’m not getting enough enough air coming out? It says minimum flow rate 1800 on the manufacturer specs, which 3 ft of tube, I’m sure I’m quite a bit below that?

Okay - so I zip tied the red line on the intake to tighten it, but I’m not getting the oxygen I was anticipating, it’s not really skimming.
What’s the problem??
