First post here so I figured why not be the build.

I've been reef keeping for about 15 years off and on.

This build is an upgrade from my 100 gallon display to the 210. I figured no better time to upgrade the display then when we move into the new house.

There is a built in that I'm ripped out and replaced it with the new tank.

The 210 fits perfect with only about 2" of space on each side. We're went with no TV in the living room seeing how this house has a theater room just past those doors

For the stand I wanted to be different and I own a metal fabrication facility so I built the stand from .188" plate steel.
All the parts are laser cut on our laser.

I added 1 inch slots 2 inches on center to mount controllers and reactors to keep everything as clean as possible.

The back slots are for weight reduction as this thing is heavy!

This was our 100 that we moved into the 210.

Nice! Love the stand. Following along too. The fun I could have with a laser and CNC...

I have 3 days until the big move so this stand needed to be done today!

I came in and media blasted it, applied the patina finish to make it look aged and a two coats of a flat clear powder coat.

This thing is a beast! It has to be over 400lbs or close to it I had to use the 1/2" hooks to hang it on the rack. It was bending the 1/4" hooks at room temp at 400 degrees they would of straightened out for sure.

Sprayed with the clear powder I forgot the take a pic of before the clear was on but it was Orange!

And the final cured finish

I had a little time today to prep the Tank it's only viewed from the front so I painted the back wall black like my current tank.

Masked off and wiped it down with Denatured alcohol to remove dirt and oil from the glass.

I started with a light tack coat to avoid any runs.

And two wet coats to completely black it out.

And the move happened what a task!

And the plumbing started. I went with a Blue Grey combo but forgot unions when I ordered so I had to get a few white ones at the hardware store. After installing them I would of liked the white blue combo more.

Setting up the tank I kept as much of the display water as I could so it wasn't too much of a shock going to the bigger tank. I had to make 90 gallons of fresh sea water to fill the new display.

I don't have my mount for the three AP700's made yet so I have the A360's on there for now while I aquascape and clean up the sump area. With all this new space I might be building a 60 gallon sump soon.

Other side of the Bridge, we're neighbors! What shops do you go to?
If you ever need help on a tank realted project Id be happy to help, especially TGAW Alloys are my specialty. Will help for fun and for free but will work for frags!;)

I don't go to the shops really unless I'm buying fish. Most of my Corals were frags picked up from local reefers on Craigslist. Vallejo Aquarium and all about fish and
Diablo Corals in Concord are really all that are close to me.
