Hello, I have a question in regards to the main drain intake set up on my Bean Animal overflow. The overflow box is inside the aquarium and has 3 holes that go out horizontally through the side of the tank. My question is since they all use elbows, should the main drain one face down to help create a full siphon and not create a venturi type issue? If it faces down, there's only about a 1/4 inch to 3/8 inch gap to the bottom of the overflow box.

most people have it face down. You can trim the piece to leave more than 1/4 of space between the pipe facing down and the bottom of your box
