On April 29th I lost my Wife, Best Friend and Love of my Life. She fought her cancer for four years. Not sure how to move forward after having her at my side for 30 years. Today is the first day I found the strength to open up. Thought it might somehow help.
So very sorry for your loss! Only time can heal that type of pain. I hope you have others around you for support.

words cannot say how sorry I am. My wife is currently battling breast cancer and every day I worry about losing her. I am glad you are able to start to open up, the burden and hurt you must be holding. Know that the strength and love that you showed her not only as she battled these last few months but the 30 years you were together she felt and still feels even though she is gone. The strength of being a caregiver, a husband, a friend is still with you, may the hurt in your heart fade into memories, smiles and remembrance of your time with your wife.

You have taken a big step by just even putting it into a few lines this morning - keep it flowing -

My thoughts and prayers are with you, not an easy thing to deal with. wish I had something profound to say, sadly I don't. My thoughts are a little jaded at the moment, thank you for your kind words, thank you all. She was a Forgiving and Loving Soul, overlooked my crush on Faith Hill after the Breathe video was released, although I was forbidden to keep live blackworms in the fridge after " The Great Worm Escape" of 2012. Rest in Peace my sweet Anita, your pain is finally gone

I am 35yrs old. I lost my mom 3yrs ago. My parents were married for 41yrs when she past of lung cancer. It’s still taking me time. She never smoked a day in her life, heck I only seen her drank maybe a half dozen times in my life. That’s why I was so upset, and just goes to show that cancer does not discriminate.

You and I will never really forget their loss. But, the turning point will be, when you get over that hump of loss, and see all the memories and good times on the other side. It’s ok not to think about them here or there, you mean no harm by doing that, but when you look around, they will always be there; some how. Flowers, birds, pictures, smells, etc.

My mom was obsessed with hummingbirds, so my wife and I have hung a few by our front windows. And guess what, they started showing up! Reminds me everyday of how happy she was when she seen them!

I, too, am so very sorry for your loss. I wish I could say that the pain will lessen with time. It won't. It will just become overwhelming less often as the days and years pass.

I lost the love of my life on December 2, 1987. I have no real memories of the next couple years. It was the darkest time of my life, and best not remembered anyway. I still talk to Kim whenever I'm in need of sound advice about life. I do whatever it is she would think is the right thing and she has never steered me wrong. 12 years after she left me I was lucky enough to find someone else who loves me like she did. We've been happily married now for 19 years. Karen understands that there is, indeed, room enough to love her with my whole heart and still have Kim in there as well.

I have no idea what I will do when I lose Karen.

Hang in there - you will, somehow, move on with your life. Anita would want you to.

So sorry to hear and wondered where you were off to.
Be comforted to know that she is at the hands of our Lord who made a promise and has set a room for her to enjoy in the most high place in the world where one is in comfort and peace while enjoying the meaning of love.
For you. . .. You have an entire family here to fall on and laugh. live and learn with as you move forward. I divorced in 2005 and found it more sensible to focus on my daughter and and adjust without a significant one. It was hard yes but now much easier.
Not saying to adjust but rather, dwell on the good times you had with her and relish the memories, not the loss and know that she is with you in spirit and is pain free and protecting you in her own way.
When I lost my mom, it hit me that life offers no promise as to when loss will occur and to meet, to know, then depart. . . is the saddest experience of a human heart.
May God comfort you in every way and know that our Lord is hear from you if you need to talk to him, cry to him and even once in a while Thank him.
Again, sorry to hear and we're here for you.

Thank you, the hole in my heart is still raw, but on a slightly lighter side, it seems we have Hummers in common. I've been a custom carpenter since leaving the service back in 1980. I built Anita a large L shaped planter on our patio, she planted Beebalm and Butterfly bush, the Hummers came, she loved it

I have to admit your response brought some tears to my eyes, thank you

Our daughter has become my anchor, thank you for your kindness. Our daughter, Meghan, has a knack for taking the perfect picture. She took this one the day I decided to bring Anita home and not leave her at the hospital

Funny is, my daughter has been my support system with all that has occurred with my life.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My husband and I are approaching the crossroads of his retirement soon, and I can't imagine going through our golden years without him. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you for reaching out to us. There are good folks around here who truly care. :)
