So James recommended 3 bars. Day plus and two blue plus or day plus, blue plus, uv/violet.

if I go this route i think I may do the UV substituted in.

also, I just realized how wishy-washy I’ve been throughout this build. Especially with lights.

meh. I’ll just convince myself I’m documenting the real challenge that it sometimes can be trying to determine the best equipment for your personal system and system goals.

So I’ve just had some….idk…earth shifting news.

my grandfather passed away this morning.

he had Parkinson’s so it wasn’t like we didn’t expect it. But still.

I never got to know either of my grandfathers. My maternal grandfather passed away about 4 months after my parents' wedding, and my Mom left my paternal grandfather's funeral to go to the hospital for me to be born that evening.

My paternal grandmother passed away when I was about 9 and my maternal grandmother passed away several years ago when I was in my early 20's.

Those with living grandparents should count themselves blessed!

Did a small bit of maintenance on the 53 today. Topped it up. Cleaned the glass. Got some pics of the coral. Oh. Found the purple monti cap and am trying to rehabilitate it since it’s not completely bleached

I’ve decided I’m going to go with 3 Orphek OR3s for the 120 for now. I really like the idea of them being T5 if T5 was LED. They seem to grow things well. They’re less than even noopsyches. And when I finally do get something like the photon, I can use them to supplement.
