Berghia Nudibranch Eggs

Thought this was neat so wanted to share. My Berghia laid an egg spiral in the tiny gap between my overflow box and the back glass :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Yep, I added 2 and within 6 weeks I had 40-50 just destroying aiptasia.

Plus one for ReefCleaners for CUC! I've never purchased Berghia Nudibranch specifically, but other critters have been great. A little small, but so, so inexpensive with their USPS shipping, just get a few extra of whatever you want.

I got them at my LFS. I bought 2 because they were 25.00 each and I was skeptical.
I moved the peppermint shrimp to another tank because I heard they will eat them.
They disappeared for a few weeks and then I started seeing more and more of them.

Let aiptasia eradication commence.

Berghia need to eat every 3-4 days. So, if you see them after that, you know the eradication has begun. Also, on a side note...their abdomens should be brownish/black on the edges while healthy. If they are completely white they have not fed and are probably starving. If your Aiptasia is gone and you see a completely snow white one, try to get it out with a turkey baster and pay it forward.

I've had my berghia's in a separate container to try and breed them but every time I see egg spirals, they are gone in a few days. Think I read somewhere that amphipods eat the eggs????

That doesn't look like the berghia eggs I normally see. They're in a strand and not laid on a hard surface. Interesting.
