Best lighting?

in your opinions, what are the best lighting options for reef Tanks? Leds or t5?

I personally think a T5 LED combo is the best option. I just installed supplemental T5 HO to go with my AI Prime LED fixture. Corals are loving it so far.

Best is up to you, but knowing where you want to go and what you want to keep will help. I would run every tank that I own with an appropriate sized Metal Halide (70W all the way to 1000W) - I think that MH is the absolute best performance-wise and that is what matters the most to me. Others have other definitions of best.

LED, but you shouldn't really be so worried about other peoples opinions. :D

"Best" is what you decide after you line up all the pros and cons and your needs and wants.

If you were basically unfamiliar with both, I would strongly suggest going toward LEDs because they are the future and they are much less expensive to own.

There's also a lot of hype, so make sure you ask a lot of questions and compare a lot of users tanks before you pull the trigger on anything.

They both grow corals well.
T5 often have the advantage of being more plug and play. Leds often have the challenge of too many options and buttons. And really poor advice in how to set them correctly.
