Best option for filtration?

Yea I saw an overflow would cost like 50 too. maybe I could do everything for under 200.

On my 55g sumpless, I just ran an aquaclear 70 filter, hang on back skimmer, and an ATO.
The filter I would use for media or throw some floss in, tossed the sponge and biomedia.
The aquaclear has a top so salt creep wasn't too bad

Well, not of the filtration up close but here is fts.
The tube poking up on the right is from the hob skimmer. (EDIT: that's a clamp I used to hold water change hose, on the second pic you can see the tube barely poking up to the left of the skimmer) I built a wood rectangle to set on top as an open canopy. I use diy leds you can see the tops of the fixtures poking out the top as well. I just cut out slots in the canopy for the hobby equipment.
I also went with a avast ATO, the sensor is just a black tube and I screwed on a metal plate to the canopy to attach the magnet mount. So just the end of the sensor was visible in the tank. I used a round storage Ottoman holding a 5g bucket next to the tank for the ATO and dosed kalk with it. I used a digital timer on the ATO, so it ran 1-2 minutes every half hour, so I didn't dump a ton of kalk in at once.
