Hey everyone, I had a clam about a year ago and loved it, was growing probably under the worst light (fluval led light strip) in my tank and probably double or triple (at least) in size before I have had a hungry butterfly (dang pearlscale) killed it. I no longer have that butterfly and my puffer that I have I am thinking of rehoming him if I can find a nice looking clam. My lfs never have any in and if they do they just don't look happy. Any suggestions on where to get some nice healthy looking clams?

Ask a lfs they be able to put in an order for you as I personally don't like ordering online. Or find another fish store if you can and see what they have

I usually don't like to order online, though this might be one of the few times I have to get what I want. I know the people really well at my lfs and have asked them to get a clam in but so far no success

I purchased from @PacificEastAquaculture and they often have some interesting ones.

I'll have to check them out, nice looking clam you got

I think it looks better in person too. I am far from a quality photographer and I'm sure it doesn't help that I only have a phone. I do have the clip on filter at least.

I haven't but I haven't been actively looking for Crocea. I'd like to find a nice blue Squamosa ;)

Mine, mine, all mine, you can't have it. :)

@OrionN, Pacific East Aquaculture has had some Ultra Crocea for several weeks now: https://pacificeastaquaculture.com/collections/clams-2

My reefing budget is totally maxed out, so any new critters are hands off for me for now lol. ;Greedy;Bored

I hemmed & hawed about this particular one weeks earlier, but it** got sold: https://pacificeastaquaculture.com/collections/clams-2/products/ultra-cultured-maxima-clam-78

(** The URL states ‘cultured maxima’ but the page title states ‘Ultra Crocea’ ... looks like a Crocea to me)

another past sale: https://pacificeastaquaculture.com/...ured-crocea-clam?_pos=17&_sid=50e26f04e&_ss=r

Regards,
Rick

I wish I had the money right this second to order one, they had some nice looking clams

Now they only have a few that is not worth 230 for. Better luck next time to me.
