If you do find one at your LFS make sure that it doesn't have a pinched stomach. A clear sign that it hasn't been eating well and may be on its way out.

The Rainford Goby is one of my favorite fish but they almost always die in captivity. They can be trained to eat prepared foods but they are most interested in filamentous algae.

They also do not stir the sand anything like a snail or true sand sifter goby.

This is from the article by Scott Michael linked above.

I have 50 nasirus snails in a 55 and they do a mediocer job in the other 55 I have an
engineer goby and he moves all the sand kinda messy but will eat chunks of krill. There isn't
anything else left for him to eat so he gets 2 krill three times a week.

Luciano have you had good luck with these? In every case were we tried them they ended up starving, we finally gave up on them. Even in a mature 210gal tank with a DSB, they didn't do well. Not sure what their specifics are as far as dietary requirements, but doesn't seem to be available in most tanks.

The one I had would wander around the tank and sift sand all day. They stay small, they are peaceful, and they will not make a mess or cloud you water to much.

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
