This is not a secret so I dont mind sharing.
All Captive bred yellow tangs are distributed through Biota. When we first get them they are tiny, transparent, skinny and pale yellow (Most of the time).
We condition them and keep them for 3 months or so, feeding them vitamins and growing them till they ship 3 months or so later. By that time most of the issues we mentioned at arrival are gone.
Color is more yellow and fish has filled up and is no longer too skinny or transparent.
So a lot of time and effort goes into them.

That's great to hear. A few years ago I took a break from my career and opened a LFS. That was an experience to say the least. I've always been more into the rare / unusual, and became pretty good friends with Dr. Wittenrich from Poma and was selling his Singapore Angels in my shop. Great experience, loved those little fish. lol

Nice! White tail is such a great fish. I love the little strip of electric blue they get in the top of their dorsal fin.

We have suppliers in Hawaii but they cannot sell us banned fish. They are allowed to sell us very limited livestock but in couple of months it will all change as ban has been lifted and permits are about to be issued.

So does that mean yellow tangs are coming back?
