Biggest Fish For Forty Gallon???

What fish do you like?

Large-ish fish for a 40 breeder might be:
Long nose hawk
Pink spot watchman goby
6 line wrasse
Clowns
Zebra dartfish

Fish to avoid:
Triggers
Tangs
Full size angels
Most dwarf angels
Butterflies

Hope that helps to get you started

some thoughts: a 40G breeder has a length of 36” ... it’s somewhat arbitrary but i personally would cap the max. length of any candidate fish to 3”-4” length.

the activity level would be the second ‘filter’ i would personally emphasize to further refine the candidate list.
