How long should any biological media stay in your display/sump/back of aio before trying to use it to seed a fresh qt tank?

I would give it a few weeks at least, maybe as long as two months to be safe.

You can also try Fritz TurboStart 900, it can cycle a tank very, very quickly, like in a couple of days.

Good luck!

I suggest placing in a nylon bag already seeded of at least 4-6 weeks and leave bag in quarantine during duration of treatment

I assume if it goes into a qt that then gets dosed with copper or some other medication that the bio media gets tossed when the tank is turned over?

Use it for quarantine only going forward

I use two months as a minimum. Static media, without water actively being pushed through it takes much longer.
