Manual clean up number #1 done. I’ve decided not to do anything other than pulling.. there are a lot of sponges on my rocks and I don’t want to kill them with H202. I’m gonna to try to get north next weekend and pack this baby down with lots snails and hermits to take care of what is left. I also moved my emerald crab from the evo over to the biocube during this time. That was super fun :face-with-rolling-eyes::face-with-rolling-eyes::face-with-rolling-eyes: I’ve got a little bubble algae that popped up on a frag rock in the biocube before I left for vacation. Hoping he takes care of it so I don’t have to. :::fingers crossed::::

Manual GHA clean up number 2 down. I did the best I could but I’m not 100% pleased. I ended up accidentally popping a bubble algae inside the tank :face-with-rolling-eyes: And bumping into the Duncan which made me notice how loose it was attached. I honestly think my 6 year would do a better glue job than mine.
Husband looked at the tank before I got started and said… “you need a bigger tank Beck” …… still searching for the right one.

I want a 280g.... husband said "basement". And ive have to move it. .... :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing: I'll keep my 112.
Yeah.. we have gone back and forth for months about that. I just don’t want a tank in the basement yet. We don’t spend enough time down there. I want one where I will enjoy it the most. The Ideal tank will be about 48” long and fit between the two windows in our front room. (The sun won’t hit it much there). The floor joists should support the weight in this location. There was a setup for sale on FB right before we left for vacation and it was too far to pull the trigger before we left. I reached out to her yesterday to see if she sold it, but haven’t heard back just yet. It will happen eventually when the stars align :star-struck:

Do you really think emeralds knock them out without popping them? The small ones definitely aren't eating big bubbles whole

There are 120g tanks they are 48"x24x24 if i recall. Having depth in a tank is so nice. I dont want to go back to anything under an 18" width. 12" is so narrow. Rockscaping is hell.

Yeah.. I skimmed a thread about that yesterday. General consensus was that they don’t develop spores to spread until they reach “maturity”. this one was about the size of a pea. I don’t know what that means as far as maturity is concerned. I’m not sweating it too bad. I figured if new ones pop up the emerald will take care of them. Nothing goes in cube before sitting in the evo for months or even longer. In all that time I have only seen one single bubble algae that popped up in the evo. And then it was gone (presumably eaten by the emerald) so I’m pretty confident that he is taken care of them. Then I will move something over to the cube and months will go by and then bam. It will start to grow on the frags after months of having nothing. I don’t get it. Either way… it was time for the emerald to get into the cube and start earning his keep. I’m tired of removing rocks and frags to treat outside of the tank. Plus I hate gluing and re-gluing frags.

Those are my ideal measurements. :star-struck:

I had bubble algae in the 4g and did nothing to get rid of it, moved everything into the cube and suddenly all bubbles are gone even without emeralds. No idea where they went

Foxface might be helping with that?

so much purple, love! you clearly don't have an urchin, they nibble on that coraline.
I’m too ocd and bad at gluing to have an urchin… I’ve thought about it for awhile and go back and forth on adding one

So I heard back and the setup is still available. She is gonna send me more equipment info in the next day or two. I’m a little nervous about the depth (or lack there of) dimensions are included in the photos. Let me know if you see anything else concerning from the limited info I have just provided :grinning-face-with-sweat:

16” inches doesn’t seem super ideal :confused-face:
I was just gonna say that. The width is nice at 24 but that extra 8 inches in height opens up alot of options, volume wise. Id save up or wait for a true 120g.

Cannot say that I've ever heard of an 80g with those dimensions. Might be something that someone built for themselves or had custom built. Either way, I would suggest you not buy this system as that 16" of height will become troublesome and irritating for you. Just my $.02.

Thanks for the input everyone.. I’ll pass… if I’m gonna do it I don’t want to feel limited like I do currently.
No, seriously, I never had a drilled tank until now. I dont want to go back to a sumpless tank system.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
