Bird's nest dying or growing ?

I've had this for about a month or so and it started losing polyps on the top tips randomly and not today starting to turn a hair brownish. Picture below

Looks like it’s not happy. I’ve always placed them lower in the tank and they do better for me. I had one in higher PAR and it grew into a dense ball. Never had much vertical growth.

Okay I moved it down about 6 inches or so but a little more to the middle will that be fine you think

You should really PAR test that tank so you can see where the hot spots are. Some tanks have hot spots in the middle where two lights intersect. Mostly LED lit tanks.

Flow and parameters are important for sps too. Not just light.
Sometimes i would frag a frag just to put in multiple places. Hths!

Ive got all about 8-9 nitrates none I can see from color

I got a birdnest last month, it is in the highest rock on my tank, and it grew a lot in one month. They said this is one of the easiest SPS, that's why I pick this as my first SPS.
