I acquired this birdsnest coral from a friend of mine a month ago, and it has put on incredible growth so far. These pictures are from June 5th and today, July 6th. I believe it was originally from top shelf aquatics. Any ideas what variety this is? He has a huge tank and buys a lot of corals so wasn’t sure of the exact name

Looks good! Birdsnest grows super fast. I sold my entire colony a few months ago. A tiny piece stayed attached to the rock and has now become another mini colony !

I think they have that one mislabeled on their website. The green polyps on the whole colony gives it away. I have some bird of paradise as well, which I believe my lfs got directly from Ora. It has purple polyps over a green base color, with lighter tips which can be greenish. It is my understanding that the polyps away from the tips of the colony should always be purple.

I’ll have to get a picture of it I’m at work rn :p
Okay cool. Please do get a pic later on this is very interesting. Something about rapid growing sps is just very exciting. It’s like it’s a mix of “hey your tank is doing great and here’s evidence” and also just printing money if you have a place to sell them

Beautiful, it looks like my blue zinger birdsnest . This is my blue zinger and birds of paradise mounted together. The last was my green birdsnest.
