This was my first attempt frag at sps had it for 6months started small and grew nicely became a rewarding favorite quickly and gave me confidence to get into SPS but recently had a few days of raised alk from a combination of trident error and a stupid mistake nothing crazy but the system stays consistent at 8.5dkh using AFR however I have been correcting salinity from 1.023-1.026 slowly by topping off with fresh saltwater for about a week and a half and i noticed alk/cal was rising slightly but i didnt sweat 8.7dkh plus nothing looked bothered went away for the weekend came back my birdsnest is turning white in the center trident said 8.9 still wasn’t too worried I knew I made a slight mistake not lowering AFR dosage while increasing salinity but didn’t think that was too crazy of a swing until I checked with a Hanna checker 9.6dkh!!!! I did a 20% water change and lowered dosing immediately I lost 2 acro frags but However some of my other sps are not showing stress some montis may have faded slightly but are recovering quickly green slimer is unremarkable and my stag horn actually looks happier than ever and encrusted the base farther

Ide like to save this birdsnest if possible looking for help and recommendations

Birdnest are very finicky.
My only recommendation is to clip a couple tips and remount incase it goes south. You may be able to save the tips.

Ya, birdsnest grow fast and die fast. Def try clipping the healthy parts off and see how they do. I've had giant colonies the size of a volleyball die off quickly. I just take the healthy parts off and they usually survive and grow back quickly. Best of luck

I feel you! I was able to save one branch off this huge colony.

Kev that one definitely hurt way more then mine
Ya, it was fine when I left in the morning for work. My wife had the couch dry cleaned and put a fan blowing towards the tank all day. Pretty sure that was the cause but it could have been much worse, no other corals were effected.
