BJD on grape coral?

Does anyone know what this stuff can be?
It is near the top of the picture.
I have never dealt with BJD before so I wanted to confirm what it was.

Looks like it caught some algae or cyano. But i dont think its bjd.
 
May be releasing zooxanthellae as well. It is partially closed up; is it a new addition? May be receiving too much light.

I got it from LiveAquaria a month ago. I couldn't find much on what they should look like, so thanks for the information.
