So sorry for your loss.I just lost my black dogface puffer.. I'm sick to my stomach.. No reason just dead... Please if anybody sees one for sale let me know.. I could cry.. Here is stock picture....
So sorry for your loss.
My dogface is over 10 years old. I can't imagine losing him.Thanks... Very hard to find...... Very hard...
Gotcha on the Solomon Islands thing. I've kept puffers for about 20 years now. I had a foot long stars and stripes, a mated pair of valentini's and my current dogface. They come out of Solomon Islands.. U can't catch fish there... I had him before the band.. So until band is lifted it's nearly impossible.. I have multiple outlets and everybody same thing...if I get lucky somebody breaking down their tank or something that would be great.. I'm a big puffer guy.. I have a pic of your guy?

Maybe ur dogface had an intestinal blockage??? My stars and stripes had an anal prolapse (I'm guessing due to old age). That ultimately lead to his demise. [emoji22]
I don't know what you feed yours, but I always try and give mine high fiber foods and space out multiple small feedings to keep things flowing through out his gut. I'll be the first to admit, it's terribly hard to stop feeding him as he always begs and acts likes he's starving! Ah... The plight of a puffer owner! That's exactly what I was thinking...

No. Did you actually get him to eat consistently??? I hear they are tough to keep nourished.

Mine loves squid. You ever had any luck with garlic? I've seen zero benefit and I've never gotten a fussy eater to be inspired by it.
Good luck! I hope he eats soon. How many puffers Di u have may I ask?I have had a couple of bigger puffers when I got them not want to eat.. A panda puffer twice and this guineafowl... Usually it's not a problem.... I will try squid...I have tried garlic with mixed results... Don't know on this one....
