Black dots on PBT overnight

This powder blue tang has a weak appetite, only wanting nori.

He’s been in copper for about a week (Copper Power 2.3ppm)

I did a general cure treatment, water change (with copper predosed) then a prazi treatment on day 1 and 4, respectively.

Overnight, he got raised black dots everywhere. His fins looked covered with ich, but that seems to be micro bubbles because it went away after taking these pictures. I saw my powerhead shoot bubbles in the tank.

The spots don't look distinct enough to be the black ich turbellarian, and the blanched ring around each one isn't typical either. Combine that with poor appetite (that isn't really seen with black ich), I have to say this is something else. So what could it be? IDK! Your copper and prazi treatments should have cleared other common parasites.

Agree on turbellarian worms. At what dosage are you treating with prazi and is it powder or liquid version?
These PBT are susceptible to skin irritations

I did the first prazi dose about 8 days ago, then I did a second dose about 6 days ago.

Maybe the eggs from 8 days ago hatched? @Jay Hemdal ?

I wonder about flukes - but 'black ich' also possible. Assuming that the other fish are all ok? (i.e. no spots). You can also have prazipro degradation even in the type of tank you have your fish in. You may want to consider a 3rd dose.

They do lay eggs as they are parasitic flatworm and have both female and male reproductive cells, and can their fertilize eggs by simple bonding. At times prazi may need to be repeated a third and 4th time to address eggs left from pest

As mentioned, susceptible to skin irritations. Great to see and keep an eye on it for redevelopment

Tangs are nasty creatures. They are the vikings of the reefs. That which does not kill them... makes them meaner.

So, in other words. They heal fast to get right back into battle. My scopas tang tried to murder my chocolate tang for 2 weeks. Chocobites out healed whatever the scopas could dish out

It’s good. It’s just that he only wants nori.

When I just brought it home prior to medicating, he would eat brine shrimp. He just looks at it now, but doesn’t seem to be eating any of it.

He’s getting pretty skinny. I’m going to feed nori more often, but I’m not sure it’s very caloric dense.

I have reef Masstick I’ll try.
