Black widow anemone?

I bought this and was told it was a black widow anemone. I don’t really care what it is. I like it…. But do I need to handle it in a special way or feed it something special? Thanks!

Looks like a Black Widow to me from the white lines on the oral disc. You don't have to feed them but feeding them once a week or so will help them grow and split faster. I usually target feed mine the Rods food or LRS Reef Frenzy frozen I give the fish.

They also need a fair bit of par. Around 250 or more more to be happy. They will move around the tank trying to find a spot they like best so make sure you have some kind of guard on your powerheads or they could get shredded.

Thanks. Helpful. I do have Powerhead protectors. I actually just did par readings today. He is sitting at much lower than 250 now, probably around 120 but he hasn’t moved yet. He has been there for about a week now. We will see. Anything I need to do for handling? Is he poisonous?

Nope not poisonous to you. They can sting with their nematocysts and catch sickly fish but it's very uncommon. You could touch it and it should be "sticky" as in the tentacles will grip on to your fingers. But there isn't really any reason to handle or touch it. It will move on its own and trying move it where you want it could wind up hurting it.
