I got a little black widow bubble tip anemone from Reefapalooza Orlando last weekend. It was in a $75 mystery anemone bag at Top Shelf Aquatic's booth and I was so excited to actually get something good out of the mystery bag.

It has been wandering around the tank trying to find a spot. Well, today it decided to climb into my powerhead during feed mode. The powerheads turn off for 30 minutes during feed mode, and during this time, it must have climbed into the powerhead from the front and then got shredded a bit when it turned back on. The sides and back intake have an anemone guard so I think it must have come in through the front.

It doesn't look too bad to be honest, but it's definitely damaged from the ordeal. I put it in an acrylic breeder box thing to prevent it from getting sucked up again, but I don't know what else to do. Is there some kind of treatment I should be giving it? Maybe an iodine dip or antibiotic? I just want to maxize the chance of it recovering.

Is the tank young? Just asking because I read of this happening often but I have never experienced it. Even when adding a new one they settle into a spot pretty quickly. But i only placed them in nature tanks. I had as many as 50 and one point and none moved unless they were getting crowded.

No, the tank is almost 4 years old at this point. It's not my first anemone either. I already have a few other bubble tips and rock flowers in the tank that are happy and doing just fine.

There is little you can do.
Change nothing and leave alone, unless it starts to come apart, then discard.
Can be a very resilient animal, so exercise patience.

I don't have any. I put frag plugs and chunks of dead coral in the box with it but I don't have anything else.
Take a rock from the scape then and put it in for now, you can always buy a extra rock later on if it choose to attach itself to it
