Blackdeath

I have a gorgonian that has been getting a black spot and it's grown a lot over the past 2 days, once a while back I simply turned up my light, but that doesn't seem to be the case, maybe I'm wrong or maybe it's something common. Any thoughts are appreciated

A photo would help with the black spot.

Also, it is extremely doubtful that you have seen noticable growth in two days. You might see polyp extension but technically that isnt growth.

It's not a coral growth in 2 days, more like a near death in 2 days. It will likely be thrown out pretty soon

I would try to frag whats left if possible...got a pic?

Gotcha. Misunderstanding. Yes, if there is a branch that still looks good or if it's just one branch that look bad, frag that bad branch off.

It's my only good one, but it's looking like it's coming back, it was about 1/3 black and closed now it's only slightly darker that normal and opening up

Starting to realize their are a bunch of types of gorgs so an Id might be super helpful

I understand their is a lot going on in this pick, I stood the gorg upright a lot more than it was in hopes for better light, also just accidentally removed cover for that pavona in the background

These guys have cyano, bubble algea, flatworms, apparently spiders and dead fish in every tank I wake up every day and hope they will shut down. They give everyone snail problems as well and act as though every issue they give people is the customers fault. That's right I'm talking about Eddie's aquarium I have gotten a thing but trouble from them and out right lies that I even had others with me to hear

It has been grown under hydra 52s at about 250 par likes high flow and will eat small particulate items but doesnt need them to survive.

That's some pretty good light, would you imagine it could be okay in roughly 150 par? Additionally, some of it was likely in lower light, any thoughts?

When i frag them i hold them in that tank and only have room on the sides there if they get 100 par theyre lucky. ..it should do fine for you. Just make sure it has good flow...flowing back and forth type flow....

Ive never used those lights ...but your corals will tell you if its too much or not enough. I would observe how they act in thier location and move up or down depending on how theyre acting.
And i see the black spot in your pic. Should come off if brushed gently with a clean toothbrush.

It's not a separate surface thing, the coral was literally turning black but it's pretty much all gone now
