Hi all,

I’ve had my bicolor blenny around 3-4 weeks now, all was going great. He used to love sitting in a little hole on my middle rock. Recently I moved the rock a little and introduced a feather duster below it. After I did this change I noticed him bounce of a few rocks like crazy and now gone into hiding behind a different rock.

I have put food in twice since then to see if he would come out and eat and I haven’t noticed him eating? I also can’t see him properly (as he’s hiding) to see if he has and spots or ick etc. my clowns are eating fine and don’t show any signs of being unwell. My parameters are all fine aswel.

Do people have any suggestions? Could this just be a little bit of stress from moving his original rock or introducing a couple of new things to my tank?

Is it worth me doing anything drastic or do I keep an eye out for the next couple of days?

Thankyou

Please provide a video of the behavior you describe
Also, is fish breathing normal or elevated?
What foods are you offering?

Moving a rock or introducing new livestock should have no affect on the current livestock (except for bullying)

How big is the tank?

I would not suggest to add food to try to entice a fish to come out of hiding, that rarely works and the added food will rot in the water. Feed your tank as you normally do, don't change the habit, if its a healthy fish it will come out when its hungry.

For now I would monitor and snap a picture or video if you truly suspect ich.

There’s no bullying as he was very happy with my two clownfish. It just seemed to come out of no where, he flashed on a few pieces of rock for 30 seconds and then went and hid and now he’s still hiding, i didn’t see him eat anything! My tank is a fluval evo (my first tank) and everything else seems to be happy. From what I can see it doesn’t look like he is breathing a little heavier

Not sure where ich comes into this picture but again . . . . .

Flashing would be a sign of flukes IF flukes and video will offer clues when that opportunity arises

UPDATE: he now seems to be abit better, after two days he seems to be eating again, he is not back in his usual spot and seems like his breathing has slowed down.
