Blonde Naso has white abrasions? Baffled...

So he was very skittish during quarantine. I had him in a plastic rubbermaid with a flame angel during TTM. Once TTM finished I put both in the display...and that's when I noticed these crazy white abrasions all over him. I was immediately scared it was velvet. Luckily I was able to quickly net him out of the 300g with little trouble. I put him in a 10g. Did 1 round of prazipro so far. He's been pretty calm with no flashing, erratic behavior at all. So I dont think its velvet. Hes been in the 10g for 4 days now. What do you guys think??

Those look like stress markings, typical with naso and blonde naso tangs. I had one and thought it was sick when I received it, but found out that it’s common for them to show on naso tangs.

Hi, know it's been a while, but my new blonde naso has almost the exact same white specks as yours. I'm pretty sure it isn't ich but not sure if it's stress or velvet. The while parts are smooth and do not protrude out like ich does. Just wondering if your tang survived and what it turns out to be. I have my Blonde naso in QT right now.

Hey there Hypen! Yes my blonde naso is fine and dandy these days. Turned out they definitely were not any type of disease. More than likely stress marks.

Thanks for the update! Yea I took mine out and gave him a fresh water dip and then put him into copper. But the more I did that, the darker his color became and the more white the specks. It just didn't seem like it was a parasite/disease. That is a relief and I'm going to transition him back into my DT as it should be much less stressful in there. Thanks again!

One more set of questions: How long did you keep him in QT? Did you wait until the white specks were gone? Did you do anything other than the prozipro? I'm doing copper but don't have prozipro, though have another product for parasites. Just wondering if I should do all of it since the store I bought him from does QT their fish with meds already. Thanks

I only did the 12 day TTM and about another week in QT. Put him in the display and the specks surely but slowly went away. They never reappeared either. All gone. Only thing is he's not as boisterous and piggy like my old blonde Naso. My old naso ate everything. This one was always more hesitant and picky.
