Does it have internal parasites?
I bought this blonde naso tang from my go to LFS. Fishes at that store always in QT with copper. I brought it home and put in QT tank for more than a week. Keep seeing him trying to eat and spit the food out. I tried 3 kinds of frozen, pellet. He won’t touch seaweed probably scared of the clip. He was in the QT tank with my cardinal used to spit food out but now he’s eating normally. I have never dealt with internal parasites so I don’t know if it has parasites. I don’t see white stingy poop. I just moved him to DT yesterday night because my QT doesn’t have light so that tang always stressed or sleeping due to white dot on his body. I don’t see white dot anymore but his color of face and body are not its normal color. Should I move it back to QT to dose treatment?

Video extremely dark with blue lighting- Best using white light intensity, no blue. Naso seems a bit on the thin side and for over 2 years now we have seen an influx of these fish are coming from Sri Lanka and it is suspected that a method of capture is contributing to this trend in which the fish appears healthy the first few days and then weakens quickly with loss of appetite and strength and as you found laying on its side, thin body and breathing heavy until death. It may be due to cyanide capture but unconfirmed.

I just took another video with white light only. Tank is kinda ugly because I was done fighting dino. Please let me know if it has some other diseases. What should I do and which treatment products should I use for that kind of disease if it have any

It is skinny because it tried to eat and spit food out for several days

That Im sure of for thinness . What foods are you trying to feed it? At minimum, it should accept brine shrimp. The very issue with Blonde imports, this fish is showing familiar signs

Vette is correct. We see a lot of Forum Members asking for help with their Blonde Naso's. And often there is nothing that can be done. Your Fish looks ragged. You could treat him for Flukes, however they will usually eat even with Flukes. A Freshwater Dip would be easiest, but I must Caution you that it can be Fatal and Tangs can be more sensitive.

I feed him with New Life Spectrum pellets, I don’t remember what kind of frozen food because I took them all out and store it in containers in frozen but I believe it’s mysis or brine shrimp and the other one is combination something with algae. I tried seaweed with garlic extract and he won’t touch it. He did eat everything I fed and spit it out right away. While he was in QT, I searched and found out that he is picky eater so I thought that he just didn’t like the food. But now I noticed that he’s kinda skinny so that’s why I think that he might have parasites.

There are tell tale signs of parasites such as white stringy feces, pinched belly and even head as examples which are not showing. As stated, they try food but eventually refuse all foods, become lethargic and begin thinning and wish I could be more encouraging but have seen dozens of these cases over last 2 years. If parasites, metroplex would help when added to food, but fish refusing foods will already defeat this opportunity

Can I dose Metroplex into the whole QT? I’m planning to get it back to the QT with the cardinal that used to spit out food before but now it’s getting back to normal

Not advised as it has to be administered precisely by weight

Yes, you can dose Metroplex in a QT (no invertebrates) but it only treats one internal disease issues - flagellate protozoans. You could also try General Cure - that treats flagellates as well as cestodes (tapeworms). However, the trying to eat but spitting the food back out isn't a sign of internal parasites, it is a sign that either the food isn't correct, or that the fish has a blockage of some sort in its throat/stomach.

As mentioned, blonde naso tangs have been showing a really high early mortality rate. They didn't used to have this problem, something has changed in either the way they are collected or in the supply chain itself. I no longer recommend that people purchase these fish.

I’m new to this hobby so I didn’t know about it. If I don’t have no success with this fish, I will not buying it again. I feel really bad when the fish is dead. Thank you for the info.
