He's eating and out but his slime coat looks terrible. Ammonia is 0, nitrite is 0, nitrate is around 5/10. He was added 1/30. I thought it was ich but the dots dont look oval to me. He looks like hes covered in dust which made me think velvet. He does a shimmy and sometimes it's aggressvie but it isnt often. I have noticed him shake his head but when i got him i treated with Prazipro for 5 days and then 7 days later treated again. I have a royal grama and an algae blenny with him in 75 gal. He just broke out less than 48 hours ago. The grama appears fuzzy too but the blenny is fine. The tangs breathing is a little fast but hes swimming a lot. The grama and blenny are breathing normally. I also noticed when the lights are off, he is VERY pale. Like almost white/pink. Pls help, I'm losing my mind 😵‍💫. I have rally pro, coppersafe, and prazipro on hand. I was avoiding using copper bc i havent had good luck with tangs and copper (they stop eating even if i slowly ramp up). Sorry for long post.

Can’t open the video. Can you post pictures? Whatever it is, your description sounds like either an infestation of ich or velvet. Prazipro wouldn’t have helped with this. Breathing heavy is probably due to the parasites in the gills. For both diseases you will have to treat them with copper. Main tank will have to be fallow preferably at 81F for 45 - 60 days for the parasite to be eradicated.

But post pics or youtube video first

At this time, impossible to see and still need video using bright white light intensity, no blues. Do not treat as advised until confirmation of what you have. Our medic group does not second guess

Looks like ich but we will wait for @Jay Hemdal and @vetteguy53081 Do you have a QT/hospital tank ready to go? Also, you don’t need to “ramp” chelated copper like Copper Power.

Looks like Ich to me. Do you have a Test kit? A Hanna HR Copper Test kit is the best. What other fish do you have in the Tank?
Yes I do, and I have a royal grama and algae blenny as well.

You will need to place fish in Quarantine tank and treat with Coppersafe or Copper Power at therapeutic level 2.25 for a FULL 30 days (do not interrupt this 30 day period) monitored with a Hanna Brand copper test kit- No API brand. Also monitor Ammonia levels while in quarantine with a reliable test kit and add aeration during treatment using an air stone. All other fish in with it should also be removed as they have also been exposed to the parasites and placed in quarantine tank.
The display tank will have to be kept fishless (FALLOW) for 6-8 weeks to assure the existing parasites go through their life cycle without a host fish and die off. Inverts and coral can remain in the display tank. Ramping up is not recommended. Increasing copper level slowly can allow the disease to gain resistance making it harder to treat a given disease. Get to the full treatment level as soon as possible. we've heard of people taking 5 days or more to reach full copper, which is always a mistake. It is old information, based on using ionic copper. Copper doesn't work well until you get above 2 ppm, and then, it can take three days to slow down or stop an infection.

Okay thank you! How would I manage appetite suppression for the tang while in the copper?

Feed as normal ,but feed in small portions to avoid rapid rise in ammonia level
