Any idea on these splotches on both sides at base of the tail? Had the tang for about a week, has been very active and eating. I haven’t got him to eat nori yet, not sure if this could be related? The spots appeared today and weren’t here when added to the tank.

Tank mates are all small peaceful fish.
- 1 bangai
- lawn mower blenny
- yasha goby
- 2 captive percs
- 2 mandarins
- fire fish

Could be the perca nipping but haven’t seen that yet.

Much appreciated!

Looks to be a tail injury but keep an eye on the clowns who can be territorial and bite larger fish. I suspect injury and one to keep an eye on for healing and not becoming red or sore which would then require treatment in a separate tank using Seachem Neoplex

Can you post a video under white light?

Probably just a minor injury, but it's in an odd spot. I'd like to see a clearer view of both sides, without the blue light....

Thanks all. Seems to be clearing up some daily, keeping an eye on it though. Hard as the fish is still skittish being new to the tank so doesn’t make it easy to see or photograph. It could be from hitting rock as he gets used to the new home.
