Blue Carpet Trouble

Hey ya'll. I have kept every nem under the sun and a week ago I got a blue carpet (gigantea). It was looking awesome and I never seen one as healthy as I had. It was in a high light spot with really good flow. I thought I cracked the code. Then over night it melted.... I have other nems in there and all other animals are doing fine. What are tricks to keeping these guys alive? Assuming that all parameters are solid. Like SPS grow no problem solid.

Honestly sounds like it may not have been healthy to begin with bro. The key to success is first finding a healthy anemone.

Well he had a ton of color. I know the usual issues to look for. i.e. open mouth, bleached, just bad looking. This one seemed to improve daily and was a really vibrant blue which is what threw me off. Have you ever kept one? What kind of care did you provide in the form of lighting and flow? I had this guy under a 400W halide at the bottom in a substrate with a rock holding him in place while he got some good turbulent flow. I tried to mimic a low tide area.

In my experience, most 'nem health deterioration is a lengthy process, usually with no visible signs of a problem for a long time. The sharp transition from vibrant to melting is odd. As rev mentioned, it may simply be that although it appeared healthy, it wasn't. Other than that, I am not sure what could have caused an overnight melt... maybe someone else with a similar experience can chime in...
