Blue LEDs!

Just thought that this was a cool article to read, I never knew that blue LEDs were such a pain to make. I wonder how different our hobby would be if these had never been created.

Great read. But i doubt they wouldn't make em its just a reason to raise the price haha but interesting the work that goes into our hobby

Consider we were using Three Times the Energy and the Devil only knows how much more heat Metal Halides provide only a few years ago.

Add Blue to Red and Green, Control it and you have any colour...Simply Awesome...

Not to mention their research in using Gallium Nitride and then tweaking the crystal, led (excuse the pun) to Home Depot LED Bulbs using phosphor coatings.

For the record I hate those curly EPA ones as they take time to get bright and if you break them you need to call a Hazmat Crew.
