I scooped up some of the PEA blue Squamosas because I'd rarely ever seen those patterns on the WYIWYG clams. The speckled one seems to have Maxima-like scutes though. Any other opinion on whether it's really Squamosa?

Maybe Crocea? I always note that Crocea is the quickest to react to light, and the movement resembles Crocea.

I thought the same thing, color is wild but the scutes?

Im too cheap to try growing them out so it’s up to you now.
I don’t think Dr Mac would try to pull a fast one so I am curious that you are asking the same question.

Please keep the thread updated!

Agreed, squamosa. The mantle and shell shape are the identifiers. Most wild caught clams will be devoid of scutes, so whether the clam has them or not isn’t the defining factor.
