We have a tank (FOWLR) with good parameters before you all ask for 10 years now.
it holds 2 blue 1 yellow a blue face angel and few clowns and chromis for at least 8-9 years now
all fish eating very well (can see on clips how big they are) and getting along.
now since a few weeks maybe a month one of the blue keep hanging at a particular rock in the bottom side corner motionless for about 2-3 minutes then swim normal again for about 10 min ti go back to its (seems drsignated) rock to repeat this cycle day in day out.
maybe on video you might see too that his color is a bit lighter (maybe faded) from the other tang. we have noticed from a while now that they sufdenly decided not go along aswell as previous with pne seemingly pushing and stalking the effected fish??
Now the question does anyone see a health issue here or a behavioral issue more?

Sounds like behavior IMO, but maybe more evidence in the video will add to the story. But big fish grown up take more space than little juveniles. Sometimes this sort of breakdown is inevitable.

What size tank is it?

Just for grins, can you post any water parameters that you test for?

I assume Hepatus Blue tangs who will do this type of behavior and even play dead. Two of the same type often invites aggression and intimidation.
Please post a video of at least 30 seconds under white light intensity, no blue showing behavior in question

I can see the paler coloration, as well as some minor behavioral differences between the two tangs, but I do not see anything that is treatable. Long term captive fish can develop chronic issues like behavior stereotypy, in this case, since other tang is not showing symptoms, I think you can rule out system-wide issues like water quality, diet being fed, etc.

I dont see the intimidation suspected and see the pale coloration which is not abnormal and my 8" hepatus has slight paling also and I feed a wide, very wide of foods which does not appear to change pigment

maybe clips not long enough but the bright one sure stalks him as soon he comes of gis rock...not so much contact but beush swiming and pushing behavior. thing is now since 2 days yellow tang is getting annoyed with him too as that rock he keeps returning to is right next to the yellow tang cave....
the weirdest thing for me is that he keeps returning to the same rock over and over again and does his "i am death act" for 2 minutes and he doesnt do it anywhere else...
as for food we have a dryfood mix we feed twice a day and give them 2 times a week a frozen mix we make ourselves.

Your frozen mix may be lacking vitamins and aminos. Add LRS Herbivore Frenzy and plankton

I'm gonna say that tank size (40"x40"x60") has become "on the small side" now that they are grown.

It's not a small tank by the gallons (40x40x60/231=)415 gallons. But it's tall, so that's a pretty small footprint considering the occupants we're talking about – that makes it a pretty small swimming space and limited rockwork too.

This may not be the only issue, but IMO it's part of it...maybe the main part.

Aminos, Yes selcon and even vita-chem recommended addition. Your diet has meats which is good but as tangs are grazers , spirulina and macro algae are good additions
