I can't tell if I had some base recession and it is growing back over, or the base is being eaten. I know it did not look like this when I put it in the tank. Coral otherwise seems healthy. Nice deep purple and polyps extend great at night.

If being eaten by aefw, they would go past the base and began attacking coral. Could be an area that lacks light and/or water flow

I know for a fact there was some base recession after initial placement. Will it grow back over the top of the bleached tissue? I'm a noob, so I don't know these things...

hi,yes it should :)

That acro is bleached and very hungry looking. Whats your nutrient levels at?

Alk mid 8's. Haven't tested yet today.
Nitrates 5
Phosphates .05
It's been in the tank about a month.
Just got my seneye today. The tip is sitting at about 250 PAR.
Corals get reef chili 2x per week and redsea AB+ a couple times per week.

The flow on it isn't as good as I was hoping for when I placed it there.
I have a spot in mind that is ~180par and high flow.
Bonsai is low light acro, correct?

I would try lower light. You can see in your picture where it's lighter in color. I'm assuming that's where the light hits it.

That is correct. Turns out I had a LOT more light in my tank than I thought... Sand bed was 300+ in some spots.
