Hey everyone! I wanted to expand my knowledge of corals and their science. Does anyone have any books that they would highly recommend?

Aquarium Corals by Eric Borneman is one that was held in high regard by the community when people actually read books :D I own a copy and its very good. The edition I have is light on husbandry and so much has changed in that regard over the years. Still its an excellent resource and more scientific focused than most of the aquarium coral books that are more recycled wisdom.

What they said. For more current info and an excellent introduction to the conflicting roles of DOC and microbial prcesses I would strongly recommend FOrest ROhwer's "COral Reefs in the Microbial Seas" (kindle version is ~$10). Technically just a thesis paper but at 191 pages it's book length is Jasper de Goeij's work on cryptic sponges. Two surprises is the incredibly fast mitosis rate, just 8 hours, and some cryptic sponges remove DOC 1000X faster than bacterioplankton.
