Has anyone with the new JBJ Rimless tank and stand combo have issues with the doors bowing? I haven’t filled the tank yet and the only weight on the stand is the empty tank... waiting on the word from JBJ’s warranty service to see if this is repairable, but thought I’d ask here in the meantime...

They were straight when I purchased it brand new from my LFS, and their return policy is only 7 days for defects... anything over must go through the manufacturer’s warranty service.

The pictures don’t do it justice, but both doors are bowing and now touching the stand in the center of the stand, whereas the top and bottom of the doors are bowing outwards and away from the stand. I’ve also noticed a gap and slight bowing on the top of the stand, creating a small gap along the bottom right edge of the tank and stand...

Am I being too picky? I’m not sure if this is just normal acceptable variances with JBJs quality that I shouldn’t worry about, but I’m kind of regretting not buying the Waterbox 40.2 for a little bit more money and having a solid plywood stand... any suggestions would be much appreciated!!

You are not being picky. It probably bowed with a temp and humidity change if it was wood. If it is some other material it might just be a manufacturing defect. It should not affect the structural integrity of the frame, but JBJ should ship you a new door IMO

Thanks for the response. I figured it was bowing with humidity changes as well, since this is either an mdf or some sort of particle/pressboard construction. I live in San Diego, CA and the weather has been pretty nice and mild, not even that humid or anything. It mainly concerns me since it’s not even under load yet... what’s it going to do once under pressure when I fill the tank, and down the road as little spills happen here and there?

Once again, probably just being neurotic about it, lol.
