Here are a few growth pictures of my BPC flamethrower chalice:

This first picture is what it looked like when it arrived from BPC, I questioned if it even was a flamethrower or not....it looked like it was fragged as they were throwing it in the bag......

The second picture was during an algae outbreak in my tank, dang I hate hair algae:

The final one is how it looks today (it is pictured beside cherry corals lithium chalice):

Hope you enjoy!

Wow, your flamethrower looks great! Do you have it shaded or is it fully exposed to the light?

Wow, that first pic doesn't even look like it has an eye. Great job bringing it back.

Thanks all for the nice words.........I have had that chalice for about three years or so (I was one of the original buyers from Ebay). It grows real slow for me.....it is about the size of a fifty cent piece if you flattened it. It gets direct light, buy my overall tank lighting is on the dim side (blue LEDS and T5s). Getting rid of algae is a tough process that includes decreasing nutrients and increasing predators (PM me if you want to hear what I did to get rid of it).

cheers,
Darren

Nice! How long did it take to where it is now in size? and how did you get rid of the hair algae around the chalice?

Forgot how nice the FT looked. i thought they were fast growers at first but now it seems like it has stopped growing now. A buddy fragged 4 or 5 frags and all but one survived which is mine now.

Can you post some updated growth pics for this?

So just to update, I have recently downsized tanks and most of my corals took the transition well, however a couple didn't and the flamethrower chalice was one of them......below is a pic of it (sorry for the bad pic, but i have it hidden under low light hoping that it will recover). Hopefully it will recover, but currently it doesn't look good at all.......

Ouch, sorry to hear about the BPC Flamethrower.

I too am thinking about transitioning my corals over to my 40 breeder I am setting up. I might just let the 40 breeder run for 3-6 months before I start moving any of my chalices.

Hope your BPC flamethrower recovers. You saved it once, so i know you have the skills to bring it back to life.
