Brain coral Brown stringy from mouth

[Miami Reef]

Dark stringy things came out of all the mouths from this brain coral. The tangs were gobbling it all up straight from the coral’s mouth. It seemed to really really tasty to the fish.

What exactly is this? And why are my fish devouring it?

Its probably organic waste after the coral has eaten. with other words - coral poo.
