Just added a brain coral, what’s best for it placement on the sand or on a small cut pvc pipe acting like a stand.

Mines right on the sand.
He’s been on sand for 5 years now.
But I doubt placing it like you have is a prob.

I like to keep mine off of the sand a little. Works in my tank

Mine was on the sand until another coral fell o top of it while I was out of town and they battled to the death.

This location often best. Feed mysis shrimp 2-3X per week and assure the coral due to location doesnt get much sediment on it which it can expel but can impose stress. Its a beautiful piece and size

I keep mine on the sand as well. About 90-100 par with gentle flow.

Yes it was, the trachy was 2 years old and about 8 inches in diameter.

Added this brain early August, yesterday after a water change and hooking my skimmer back up. Skimmer fitting was broke for a while
