True true. It just looks a little worn in lol. Are acrylic sumps pretty indestructible? I mean I’d look for visable cracks obviously, but is there other things that could be wrong with it? Seems very cheap for acrylic and that size lol.

You could look at used pumps for the car...something that got totaled with low mileage. What type car and what is the SBC something to do with brake control?

It's worth a look for sure, a 55 gallon sump on a 40B is pretty awesome. Acrylic sumps from what I"ve seen are pretty stout, and eshopps makes good sumps. If you go DIY the figi cube baffle sets are nice, a buddy has the 40b version.

That’s what I was thinking too. The sump volume to display volume water ratio would be pretty awesome. I bet I will be able to have a pretty massive pod population and nutrient export with a sump that large. I’m excited!! I hope it turns out as good as I’m picturing it!

When I go look for the 40b what’s the best way to tell if the sides are tempered? I’ve heard the aqueons randomly have some panes tempered and others not?

I did read it is dependent on glass availability. Manufacturer does allow it.

Is the polarized sunglasses thing a myth? That tempered glass looks different or something? Did I just make that myth up now? Lol I swear I’ve heard that hahaha.
