Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

Guess what? We have brand new baby birds in the wreath on our front door! Every year I say I'm not going to let them. They are loud and nasty. Every year I can't bring myself to do it. :)

This is very cool and it makes me happy that you let them nest there. There is a reason they pick your house.
Every Spring, for last 4 years, when the geese come back, they have a thing for landing on our roof. We have absolutely no idea why. Just our roof and no one else's. Typically, they are on it in the mornings walking about, squawking and driving our dogs crazy. It is quite strange!

Would I be correct that trachys feed like a blasto, and lobos more like an acan? Sorta?
Sorry, I was busy making RODI with stopped up sediment filter. 12 hours to make 15 gallons on a 75gpd membrane. Painful is an understatement... but the Reefer250 is full and cycling. I'm jealous, this tank is unbelievably quiet. My drain has a splashing noise that isn't overly loud, but this thing is DEAD SILENT. Sine wave return and voodoo hoodoo majik overflow... I know what my next tank will be.

As far as the trachy, they have very short feeders like an acan lord(now called micro lord). Lobos are more similar to acan echinata or a chalice with the long sweeper tentacles. Except instead of just stinging their neighbors, they digest them. Scolys I think do the same thing. I've seen a frog spawn get mysteriously pulled into a scoly several nights in a row until I convinced the owner that the scoly was grabbing it in the middle of the night and pulling it in to eat it. Both were sitting in the sand bed with about 4" of space between them when the frog spawn was fully extended.

Edit: she was confused because the flow was going from the scoly to the frog spawn, so didn't understand why the frog spawn was "getting blown over" up current. I had to explain the scoly had feeders and was trying to eat the frogspawn.

Congrats.

Imagine how many days it took me to fill my 180 gallon with 50 GPD RO/DI, please note that I was turning the RO off while I was at work or sleep .

Man I really wish I had bought the big trachy year before last. He was beautiful! I didn't because he could eat my fish. The guy's wife smacked him because he said 100. Apparently he was asking almost 400.

I've ordered new 5ųm sediment, 5ųm VOC carbon and 1ųm universal carbon. I think its time, filters have never been replaced before on at least a year old 4 stage RO. The 2 stage DI was replaced around the same time I got the new RO, but it is still blue as my TDS out of the tap is 70-80 and after the membrane is 0.

@Fin I knew you'd laugh. Bell-bottoms. Hippie kid might get it from me :)

Ah the good ol’ days. I wonder how many pair of bell bottoms I destroyed to make cutoffs. Nice feet! LOL!

Just another dog picture. This is my (almost) 12 year old Husky, Saber. Caught him eating a treat outside. His head isn’t that huge, it is just the way he was laying in the pic. Ha.

Oh he is cute !

Hey guys random Q. My fungia has been on the sand but slowly getting buried by my goby and not able to get the sand off it’s self quick enough before more sand is on it. I’m not sure what to do. I finally moved it just to this rock, just sitting not glued. I’ve never seen fungia on rocks.. but it looks happier than it did. What should I do long term though?

I’m so jealous of this.

Do you have another spot. You could get clay pot bottom filled with sand. That will allow it to be higher but still on some sand

I remember you changing those out. If I remember right just about a year

What a sweet baby! Beautiful. Lucky dog to have an owner that loves him like you do!
