Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

Andrew's doesn't even phase the fish. I was trying to add everything he loves to this tank.
Nice nice. I’m more about, if it doesent benefit the coral or fish, I don’t need it. Lol. But it definitely is enjoyable for the viewer! I had it on my old current USA lights.

I'm trying to give him everything on his wish list.

hello! Hows everyone! Im having real bad luck lately. both my cars are broken down... im very sad :( this means i need to give my coral and fish money to fix my vehicles. the american truck is a easy and cheap fix. the other makes me want to crawl up in a ball and destroy it.

Sorry to hear that man.. I know the struggle. I hit a pot hole while driving my street car on the way to a super bowl party. It’s still messed up. I think I cracked my catalytic converter. That’s not a cheap fix on my E92 ;Drowning

You did. @SPR1968 uses his lightning mode. He had some videos of Triggers and some of sand anemones spawning during the lightning. It was pretty neat.
Yes I use the thunderstorms and lighting effects every night from around 7pm on a random pattern as the tank ‘goes blue’. It’s quiet effective and very atmospheric

It’s timed perfectly with my wine consumption as I slowly ‘drift away’. It’s like an anesthetic without the counting! Lol

And can I steal your indexing system Brian! Lol

Well that sounds pretty cool.. ! Lol

Any time! I find it so interesting you use storms every night.
I always have, it’s very effective and as you’ve seen it puts the creatures in the mood for luuvvv!

It’s on a random pattern but high intensity and simulates clouds going over were the lights slowly dim, full lighting storms etc.

My lights are the Hydra 26’s x 4 and very good.

Such a good mom!

As far as controllers that can use an iPad; have you looked into building a reef pi controller? They're not that difficult to build, will save you a ton of money and have a really great support thread here, right @Ranjib ? Plus there are quite a number of other members' build threads. Lots of members always ready and eager to help. I know Andrew would really love putting a reef pi system together with you!

The SOLs do have the lightning feature. I found that it spooked my fish - as well as any guests that I may have had. :)

And I do plan to use my old iPad for a monitor screen for APEX Fusion.

I never even thought of that. Yes, he would love building one!

@Fin Andrew uses his on random too. We were warned by Steve's that it might freak the fish out, but it didn't. He does sometimes make it storm and has an Alexa thing that plays storm sounds. He said his fish like it :) I actually think they do.

I recently sold a bracelet to help pay for the tank (honesty in Reefing), and I got Andrew the Arduino mega starter kit to tinker with this summer. I assume this will lend in him building a controller?

I remember you changing those out. If I remember right just about a year
Yea, I still had the 35 cube running when I replaced the DI. It was shut down almost a year ago now... this time last year I was planning and ordering stuff for the Fairy Tale. I made 5 gallons last night(serious RO shortage at the house filling that Reefer, I usually have at least 5g in a tote with ATOs full. I plan on 60 gallons of RODI and Salt storage here soon in a mixing station) and I checked the DI. Maybe a 1/2" of color change in the first canister. I need one of those auto flush RO buddies, DI resin would last me forever.

there are pages in r2r that says 30 would be fine. That goes against all I've read and know. Just making sure I didn't miss something.

For a beginner, I wouldn't recommend anything less than a 4ft 75g for one. For advanced aquarists, such as yourself, 32 bio cube minimum for a single Centropyge. The problem is being mainly benthic feeders, I having enough grazing room, while also providing swimming room. The Atlantic or flame back pygmies would be ok in a mid sized cube no matter the aquarist skill, but they are pretty territorial so I would make them the last addition and only one per 30 gallons.

I'm going to ride the edge with that Reefer, I already have a nox and plan on adding a bicolor in the future. The nox tops out at only 4", and so far seems to be pretty passive and cryptic but is gaining confidence. I'll let it establish once the Reefer is cycled, then add a similar sized bicolor, probably in an acclimation box. The bicolor will outgrow the nox, so I'd like to let it get established and claim territory first.

They will be the only large fish, aside from a pair of clowns. I think she wants a storm and phantom pair, and a black cap basslet are the only fish she's shown an intrest in.
