I guess a better question would have been how do I tell if my wifi is out? Just the lights on the router?

Satilite brings the internet into your house. WiFi box takes the signal turns into a radio signal and broadcas it throughout the house.

Your phone would show full wifi signal but you would have no internet connection. That would mean the router is producing signal and it's good but the internet going tot the house is the problem

If the internet is down but your WiFi will still produce a signal with no information from the internet.

If the wifi goes down you won't be able to connect to the wifi.
